My artwork, “Zeus and Hera” is part of the collection “We ART the Champions”, in witch I explore the timeless beauty of classical statues, using textured white stucco to bring to life the illuminated areas of their forms. For this piece, I was inspired by Zeus and Hera, two iconic figures from Greek mythology.

To contrast the tactile, sculptural quality of the stucco, I chose a raspberry background accented with soft vertical stripes in shades of purple and light blue. These subtle colors add a sense of movement and modernity, which I hope brings a fresh perspective to the classical theme. My aim was to create a piece that feels both elegant and contemporary, while still paying homage to the past.

The story of Zeus and Hera resonates deeply with me. Zeus, the king of the gods, embodies strength and leadership, while Hera, as the goddess of marriage, represents loyalty and the complexities of partnership. Their relationship is far from perfect, but it’s precisely this imperfection that makes their story so human and relatable.

This painting measures 40×60 cm and is created with gesso, stucco, and acrylics on high-quality cotton canvas, stretched over a 1.7 cm wooden frame. I’ve protected it with a double layer of UV-resistant matte varnish to ensure its longevity. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that I’ve signed personally.

This piece represents a balance between tradition and contemporary, strength and grace—qualities I strive to reflect in my work.
