In the artwork “Meditation and Poetry” I represent a woman resting, her sinuous bust arching and folding into a soft abandon.
The body has a material aspect, obtained through the application of stucco. The brushstrokes increase their speed as they move away from the face, in meditation, towards the skates, in representation of the speed.
I chose to use the plaster for its rough, harsh surface. It offers a poetic meaning, lunar and winter allusions. The pictorial surface is poetry and invites the creation of metaphors.

The artwork is inspired by the statue “La Fiducia in Dio” by Lorenzo Bartolini kept at the Museo Poldi Pezzoli in Milan and is part of my “We ART the Champions” series.

The painting is done with acrylic colors and stucco on cotton canvas. The edges are painted and the signature is present on the front and back sides. The artwork is ready to hang and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The surface is finished with a double layer of mat varnish, which makes it resistant to UV rays and the passage of time.
